• Butler’s Orchard (Germantown). Pumpkins, sunflowers, hay, and rustic fields — the most fun fall spot for families with young kids, and a playful change of pace for seniors who want something different.
• Cabin John Regional Park (Rockville/Bethesda). Easy, gorgeous tree lines and a relaxed feel — great for families with little ones who need room to roam.
• Rock Creek Regional Park & Lake Needwood (Rockville). Woods and water with reflections of the color. Beautiful and close to home.
• Great Falls Park. Dramatic any time of year, and unreal in fall when the color frames the river and rocks. A favorite for seniors who want something bold.
• Seneca Creek State Park (Gaithersburg) & Agricultural History Farm Park (Derwood). Big, quiet, warm-toned spaces with barns and open fields if you want room to breathe and a rustic feel.
• The Kentlands & Bethesda neighborhoods. Not just spring spots — the tree-lined streets get lovely and golden in autumn too, for a walkable, colorful backdrop.
