Corporate & Team Headshots in Rockville, Bethesda & DC

Here’s a small thing that quietly makes a company look bigger and more buttoned-up than it is: everyone’s headshots match.

You’ve seen the opposite, a team page where one person has a crisp studio portrait, another has a cropped wedding photo, and a third is clearly a selfie from a parking lot. It reads as scattered, even when the team is excellent. A consistent set of professional headshots does the reverse: it signals that this is a real, credible, put-together organization before a visitor reads a single bio.

I’m Erica Land, a Rockville-based portrait photographer, and alongside individual branding work I photograph teams, small businesses, law and consulting firms, associations, nonprofits, and growing startups across Bethesda, DC, and the Tysons/McLean corridor. Here’s how corporate headshots work and how to make them painless for everyone involved.

Why consistent team headshots matter

Your website’s team page, your LinkedIn company presence, proposals, press, and speaker bios all pull from the same well of images. When those images share a look, same lighting, same background, same style, your whole brand snaps into focus. When they don’t, it undercuts the professionalism you’ve worked hard to build.

Consistency is exactly the thing individuals can’t create on their own. It takes one photographer, one setup, and a plan, which is where I come in.

On-location or in-studio – whatever’s easiest for your team

Most teams I work with want the least possible disruption to the workday, so I bring the studio to you. I can set up a professional backdrop and lighting in a conference room or open office anywhere in the DC metro, and move your team through on a simple schedule so no one loses more than a few minutes.

If your office isn’t ideal, or you’d like an on-brand environmental look, we can shoot in your actual workspace, in a nearby setting like Bethesda Row or a downtown DC exterior, or at my Rockville studio. We’ll pick based on your brand and your logistics.

How a team session actually runs

I make it genuinely easy:

  • We plan the look first. Background, style, and a wardrobe note sent to your team ahead of time so everyone shows up ready and the images match.
  • We build a schedule. Staggered time slots keep the day moving, people come down, spend a few relaxed minutes with me, and get right back to work.
  • I direct every person. Most employees dread this part; guiding them, posing them, and getting a real, confident expression in a couple of minutes is my job.
  • New hires are easy to add. I keep your setup and settings on file so future headshots match the originals, no more mismatched team page as you grow.

What your team should wear

A short wardrobe note goes a long way toward a cohesive set. I usually suggest solid colors, clean lines, and a level of formality that matches your industry, a law firm and a creative studio should look like themselves. I’ll send simple guidance you can forward to the whole team so everyone’s coordinated without looking like a uniform.

Executive and founder portraits

For leadership, we can go beyond the standard headshot into a short personal-branding set, a few environmental shots for the About page, speaker bios, and press. It’s the same idea as your team headshots, with a little more storytelling for the people who represent the company most publicly. (More on that on my branding & headshots page and in my branding photography guide.)

Let’s get your team looking sharp

Whether you’re refreshing a team page, onboarding a wave of new hires, or finally replacing that mismatched set of photos, a single team session gets everyone looking professional, credible, and consistent, and it’s easier than you think.
